The biggest news of all, here at smALL FLAGs,  is the overhaul of our shopping cart and how it hangs together with the rest of our website.

StoreFront and smALLFLAGs - what a team! Click to find out more about this great software. We're pleased to have upgraded to the latest version of LaGarde, Inc.'s StoreFront® shopping cart software.

The advantages are explained in more detail on our homepage, but suffice it to say, we're stoked! And hope you are as well.

A couple of other technical changes which may be of interest to you:

New Flags!?

On June 3rd, 2006 Montenegro passed a resolution to end its union with Serbia. Serbia will take over the UN seat formerly held by the Union of Serbia and Montenegro, while Montenegro will apply for individual membership in the UN. Each now has its own flag as shown below.

New flag of Serbia with seal available from your smALL FLAGs store. New flag of Montenegro available from your smALL FLAGs store.

And here's a tease: Soon to come: The announcement of the availability of the newest South American flag.

Star "Factoids"
Part V

Way back in Volume 4 Number 4 of this newsletter, we said we'd speak a bit more about stars and moons on flags. The astronomical configurations shown in the flags below are of course impossible. (Stars cannot actually be seen inside the crescent moon. That's just the shadow of our Earth.) However, it does make for esthetically pleasing designs.

(As usual, try to guess the flag before moving the cursor over the images.)

Comoros Singapore
Tunisia Turkmenistan
Algeria Mauritania

Furthermore, consider the following moon-sun arrangements:

Malaysia Azerbaijan

Enough about stars for a while. Upcoming issues will explore other images used in flags.

The Personal Corner

smALL FLAGs helping small campers with their crafts.

Here's how one creative camp leader used some of our products last summer: She bought some inexpensive caps and ironed on our Flag Patches to help identify teams of campers! How clever is that?

We supply the products - you supply the imagination. What a team!

Hot New Items!

We'll be bringing more of them to your attention in future issues, but for right now, please allow us to introduce you to our newest, and already very popular, patch design, our Rectangle Patch with Name.

Here's an example of the Flag Rectangle Patch with Name available from your smALL FLAGs store.

Almost the same size as our existing Rectangle Patch, these offer the name of the country and a huge selection.

One More Hot New Item!
